A pair of Frisco ISD athletes have been selected as Wendy’s High School Heisman winners. Cody Perry, a senior at Frisco High School, and Trey Taylor, a senior at Lone Star, are among more than 7,500 high school scholar-athletes who are being recognized from an applicant pool of 42,000.
Perry is a forward for the Frisco basketball team and Taylor is a safety for the Lone Star football team. Each was selected as a School Winner based on his success in academics and athletics and contributions to the community. To apply, students must be seniors, have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or better, participate in at least one sport and be a leader in his or her school and community.
As School Winners, Perry and Taylor have a chance to become State Finalists, State Winners, National Finalists or National Winners. State Winners will receive a $500 college scholarship, National Finalists will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and the boy and girl who are National Winners will receive a $5,000 college scholarship and trip to New York City to attend the Heisman Trophy award broadcast on December 8.
